The slapdash animation is matched in kind by the patched-together story. Go to Full Review

The film's website calls it the 'first ever 3-D animated, family-friendly, faith-based movie,' but you may call it 'The Passion of the Christ' meets 'Babe.' Go to Full Review

This isn't a warm, gently humorous, inoffensive parable about values, like the VeggieTales series. No, this is so much more horrible (and fascinating) than that. Go to Full Review

Miles S Jan 31 The animation is clunky and the animals look weird. The fake out sacrifice is dark for a children's movie. The white doves desiring imprisonment feels awkward. See more cover l 03/20/2022 THE LION OF JUDAH is an adorable, animated children's film with such a fun cast of animal characters. Though the movie theme is rather somber, dealing with the sacrificial lamb, a gang of ‘unclean' ravens, and Jesus' ultimate sacrifice, the witty animals keep it rather upbeat. That certainly doesn't mean the significance is lost in the humor. There is a very touching scene revealing the death of Jesus, but His resurrection soon lightens the atmosphere and brings the animals a reason to celebrate. The film follows Judah, the cutest little lamb ever, as he's crated and sent to Jerusalem to be sacrificed for man's sin. Judah doesn't realize his fate, mistakenly thinking he is being sent there to free caged animals. One of the barnyard animals, Drake the rooster, accidentally gets caged up with Judah and his misfit group of friends go on a mission to Jerusalem to find and free him. On the road to Jerusalem, the group comes across Jack, a mule who has run away from Jerusalem, and they pretty much force him to help them find the city and their friend Drake. It's in the city that they discover Judah and Drake's fate, and they search for the King, who is apparently the only one who can truly save them. This Salvation story is not only entertaining, but the important and memorable message is life changing. The film reveals the sacrifice of Christ and our need for Him. I highly recommend this Easter film. It'll make you laugh, perhaps even cry, and will stay with you long after the credits roll. Cast of Characters: Judah (Georgina Cordova) a brave, innocent lamb Slink (Ernest Borgnine) a loyal rat Horace (Omar Benson Miller) a feisty hog Drake (Alphonso McAuley) a chatterbox rooster Monty (Anupam Kher) a fearful horse Esmay (Sandi Patty) a proper lady cow Jack (Scott Eastwood) a stubborn mule Many thanks to Pure Flix for providing a sample of the product for this review.
