Tom M Nobody plays the suave, genteel 'happy go lucky' character better than Colman in most of his movies. And this is one of his best. The only thing that will make him stray from his determined path is ... well ... a beautiful woman. Bennett provides the distraction and ...well ... you've got a great romantic comedy. Nigel Bruce at his best in support. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 05/09/20 Full Review Audience Member I only watched this film because I like Joan Bennett and was rather disappointed. The dull Ronald Colman plays the titular gambler and the film then sets out to make a story based upon the popular song, which seems like a bad idea. I wonder if this was the 1930s equivalent of basing a movie on a video game? Meh. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/31/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
