Ela A Loved the suspense and the main character’s constant battle with his “inner voice.” His decisions leave you with much to think about, especially concerning the effects of greed and self-actualization. It begins with audio of narrated from the Bible, so one might get the idea that this could be a faith-based movie. And maybe it is. But if this is the case I can assure those who are allergic to such films will not be able to dismiss this work out of hand. Yes, there are themes of morality, temptation, greed and other vices. But all are addressed with a subtlety and nuance not normally found in Christian cinema. The cast is impressive all around. Special kudos need to be directed toward Inbar Lavi, who plays dual roles. I am embarrassed to tell you when I realized that the 2 parts were being performed by a single actor. There are a few elements in the movie that I would have liked to seen explained a bit deeper, but all in all, an enjoyable viewing experience. While it’s not an action movie, it’s increasingly suspenseful without any gore or ‘scary things’. The start was a bit slow but pretty soon I got hooked and found myself being persuaded by some of the same things that enticed the lead character. It all sounded so good…. But then the choices he was making!!! Some beautiful cinematography and attractive representation of American lifestyle possibilities. How far are you willing to go to get what you dream?
