Though 'The Marked Woman' follows many of the usual conventions of the contemporary thriller, it is quite interesting how it finds its niche in the exploration of memory, identity and secrets...[Full review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

While this film could have benefitted from tighter editing, the tale, setting, and characters combine to create a compelling mystery. Go to Full Review

The Ripoll character’s arc is underdeveloped, as if the filmmakers sought to avoid cliches and ended up avoiding anything of interest. Go to Full Review

The Marked Woman becomes less interesting as the story unfolds, to the point that the revealed case, which is hardly original, becomes almost irrelevant to the viewer. [Full review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

Claudio C @Claudio666 Jul 2 Underrated Thriler (12,543 – 01 Jul 2026) In Algeciras, a woman named Lucía accuses Det. Zárate of corruption and flees to Barcelona. When an unknown woman is found tied, tortured and with amnesia in a container from Algeciras, Det. Anna Ripoll, who is recovering from a trauma, is assigned by Sub inspector Morell to the case. The woman is attacked in the hospital and Anna protects her. Zárale asks his friend Falcó to be sent to Barcelona to work with the and she tries to interrogate the woman. Soon Anna learns that she is Lucia’s sister Clara and Zárate wants to know her whereabouts to clear his name. They team-up and face a network of human trafficking. "La desconocida", a.k.a "The Marked Woman" (2026) is an underrated Spanish thriller with a good story. The characters are well-developed and the mystery is gripping. The performances are excellent and Det. Anna Ripoll is a complex character. My vote is seven. Title (Brazil): A Desconhecida" ("The Unknown Woman") See more Joan T @Tellah Jun 24 The Marked Woman is an engaging mystery thriller packed with corruption, espionage, and plenty of unexpected twists. The story follows a young woman searching for the man she loves, only to find herself caught in a dangerous web of deception, lies, and secrets. What I enjoyed most was how the plot kept me guessing. Just when I thought I had figured things out, another twist changed everything. The beautiful setting of Barcelona, Spain adds alot to the atmosphere and perfectly complements the suspenseful story. Although I wasn't familiar with the cast, every actor delivered a strong performance and helped bring the mystery to life. The production quality is impressive, and the pacing keeps the viewer invested from beginning to end.The Marked Woman is definitely worth watching. See more Marco L @decatur555 Jun 22 The Marked Woman is not a perfect thriller, but there is a good film hidden inside it. The premise may sound familiar — a woman with no memory, an urgent investigation and secrets slowly coming to light — yet the characters give it more weight than the plot alone would suggest. Candela Peña is the main reason it works: her character feels wounded, tired, angry and deeply human, not just a detective solving a case. The film is most interesting when it explores memory, identity and the way other people try to reconstruct a life when the person at the center cannot remember it. It sometimes relies too much on genre conventions and could have been sharper, riskier and more uncomfortable. Still, it has tension, strong performances and enough emotional texture to make it worthwhile. See more David H. @rivrocks Jun 16 We are left to our own presumptions and assumptions to figure out what's going on. There is no context and nothing to entice us to want to play guessing games to figure it out. The actors, the sets, and the dialogue all seem tired. See more Diedre S. @drpsy21 Jun 12 It has a lot of twist and turns. Very interesting.
