Far from being a too glossy cat fight, this film is firmly rooted in reality and shows the tremendous toll love and intimacy takes on our fragile, raw hearts. The characters were a continual surprise and delight. The Meddler is the sort of quality film where even minor characters turn in fine performances.

At least try to act susan sarandon. my estranged siblings can do a better brooklyn mother in LA. If you cannot add anything to a cliche do not take the role, really poor effort the rest of the cast was there where t f are you?

Marnie is a terrific character, brought to life not only by Sarandon (it's her best work in ages) but also by Scafaria, who refuses to let the woman lapse into cartoonish caricature (e.g. Barbra Streisand in The Guilt Trip or Sarandon herself in Tammy).
