Too many cineastes unfairly make it sound like Rupert Julian was basically the Uwe Boll of the silent era, taking Erich von Stroheim’s baby and murdering it. That’s hardly the case, as this box office hit stands as an absorbing and often moving melodrama. Go to Full Review
