Joshua Polanski Boston Hassle The Moon eventually loses its good favor and begins to feel like a hodgepodge of dangerous scenarios that a collection of studio executives forced into the final product, never coming up for air... Jul 5, 2024 Full Review Emilie Black Cinema Crazed The Moon is a solid action adventure drama, a mixed genre film that has a whole lot going and a whole lot going for it. Rated: 4/5 Mar 12, 2024 Full Review Daniel M. Kimmel North Shore Movies Once “The Moon” grabs your attention, it doesn’t let go. Similar to another crisis-in-space movie, “Gravity” (2013), it offers thrilling visuals with engaging human drama. Rated: 4.5/5 Mar 1, 2024 Full Review Perry Norton Film Threat This is a nicely realized slice of science fiction and a terrific piece of world cinema. Rated: 8/10 Feb 29, 2024 Full Review James Marsh South China Morning Post By turns illogical, infuriating, casually xenophobic and head-bangingly stupid, The Moon is one of the worst Korean blockbusters in recent memory. Rated: 1/5 Sep 27, 2023 Full Review Abhishek Srivastava The Times of India This film undeniably draws inspiration from movies like 'Gravity,' 'Apollo 13,' and 'Interstellar,' but ultimately succeeds in maintaining its own unique flavour. Victor P The special effects were amazing. The lead male actor DO did an excellent job. The supporting acrtress Hong Seung-Hee was a scene stelaer. But overall the movie was overly melodramatic, sappy and cliched. The foreign actors who portrayed the Americans were horrible and the writer painted a very unrealistic view of NASA officials. Kim Hee-ae had major speaking roles in English but it was obvious the movie was written for a Korean audience because her English was unintelligible (they couldn't even hire her an accent coach) Rated 2 out of 5 stars 09/11/23 Full Review Jessica Doh Kyungsoos acting was really amazing. The movie was one stressful event after another and I truly thought it would end differently at one point. The supporting actors were also really good. The American actors in NASA sounded comical. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/31/23 Full Review Jackie S Worth watching on the big screen! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/24/23 Full Review Wanting more Felt the movie was not long enough the end came and wanted more need a prequel for clarifications perhaps the director/ writers objective Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/18/23 Full Review Hamilton R First of all, the characterization is poor. The actors in the film gave the impression of rookies, and not experienced personnel. Too emotional and as most Korean movies this one is over-dramatic. The surviving astronaut acted like a school kid who just finished high-school and portrayed like one who shouldn’t even entered a space program. He looks emotionally unstable to be even an astronaut. His character seems to be out of place. Same goes with the earth space command centre. I was put off when the 2 astronauts died. And this astronaut started to open the door! Are you kidding me!?? An astronaut opening the hatch?? Only a kindergarten kid would do that! I started to lose interest by then. I started skipping scenes. Visually the movie is tops, as in most Korean movies. Some things are just senseless. Like the flag moving ‘with the wind’. Drone which doesn’t lunched into space when all four thrusters continuously firing. Funny! Clearly the moon is full of gravity. If i want to compare, the Silent Sea another Korean space movie was more convincing and sensible. Fx was senseless in many parts. Might as well make this movie as a post-apocalyptic story on Earth! This would be right. Overall impression, just keep the movie simple. This one, overcooked it. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 03/17/25 Full Review Nikoloz T Some may think that it is just a movie with forced drama, but it is actually not. True, it looks like a fairy tale since the ending is happy and peaceful, but anything else would not feel right. Definitely worth watching.
