The Mummy is a rousing, suspenseful and horrifying epic about an expedition of treasure-seeking explorers in the Sahara Desert in 1925. Full marks for sets, costumes and special effects. I would have preferred a more realistic acting style as the cast overacted and were a bit larky in dangerous situations. Also there was a bit too much silliness and lame jokes. It killed the tension and stopped me from really being immersed in the drama. But each to their own - I'm sure some like it that way. On the whole good entertainment.

Fun movie based on history. Slightly better than the original mummy movie or the Hammer version. Much better than the Cruise version. Opening battle with FFL and Arabs have armament backwards. Berbers had single action rifles. FFL had repeating rifles. Some liberties with history but generally accurate. Good acting from leads. Rachel Weisz beautiful as always. Brendan Fraser underrated as usual but very good.

I saw this on Catalina island and loved it. Reminds me of times when ancient things were mysterious and a little scary, instead of being on tiktok as 'P.O.V you are in Egypt and unlock and ancient curse'
