The Mummy is a rousing, suspenseful and horrifying epic about an expedition of treasure-seeking explorers in the Sahara Desert in 1925. I saw this on Catalina island and loved it. Reminds me of times when ancient things were mysterious and a little scary, instead of being on tiktok as 'P.O.V you are in Egypt and unlock and ancient curse'

An enjoyable but bad movie. Some parts of it were cool, other parts were lame. It was funny and weird, both in intended and unintended ways. I got pretty bored watching this film. I thought the setting of the movie was cool. The plot wasn't that great. I'd say the movie is enjoyable, but pretty bad.

The one thing that bugs me is that The Mummy could've been so much more if a less cartoonish route had been taken. The actors are onboard, the ideas are ambitious (but perhaps not the most original) and the effects still hold up pretty well. It's just so sad that the movie never even tries to build suspense or tension because it's afraid the audience will loose interest.
