Audience Member Really enjoyed this film. Appreciated the insights to the creative project journey filled with highs and lows, technical.. personal.. interpersonal dynamics.. plus some aspects of the project that were easy and fun versus necessary and hard, expected and unexpected challenges and rewards.. what worked vs. what didn't. This story is real, the people are real, and its loaded full of gems. I will watch it again. Really enjoyed watching it with my son (18 yo) who never played a game on an NES system before, but was knowledgeable of many other/recent game systems; he was quickly drawn into the story and enjoyed it as much as (or more than) me. :-) Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/16/23 Full Review Audience Member While the basis of this documentary sounds incredibly interesting, the end result feels like more of a retelling. Scenes feel staged, and played up for dramatic effect. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/17/23 Full Review Audience Member Though I am not a videogame player, I loved this documentary. It investigated its subject deeply and broadly and in a thoroughly entertaining way. It was not just about 8-bit programming, although that was certainly a big part of it. It was about childhood dreams, and friendship, and art, and writing, and music, and death, and taxes, and overcoming obstacles, and more. It was amazing that they included so many different people and so many points of view in just one movie, creating a story with humor and deep insight. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/19/23 Full Review Audience Member As a backer for this project. You have done a incredible job. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/17/23 Full Review Audience Member Great film, great story, great game. I definitely recommend watching it. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/30/23 Full Review Audience Member Great Documentary. Plays with nostalgia but not to the point where thats all its about. Shows the struggle of programming for an old format that has huge limitation. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/22/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
