isla s This is quite a tense and claustrophobic watch. Its the sort of film which makes you wonder what people motivations may be, or have been and it keeps you guessing. Its understandably rather grim and gritty and is a worthwhile watch overall. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Exceptional cast and a trueful story of corruption endemic in most societies. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/13/23 Full Review Audience Member Egyptian "Chinatown." Polanski couldn't have done it better. Superb direction, acting, writing. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/10/23 Full Review Audience Member Atmosphere and crude reality of the enviornment are well achieved, although plot results not very clear. As a good film noir, works as a mirror of a particular society. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/25/23 Full Review Audience Member sisi politik negara-negara arab emang kacau yah, dan semua negara yah pasti ada aja aparat yang korup gampang kemakan duit. tapi ini semua bukan soal itu, di film ini kaya film detektif tapi beda aja. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/13/23 Full Review Audience Member Nice to have a glimpse of the city of Cairo. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/18/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

      J. R. Jones Chicago Reader [Writer-director Tarik] Saleh leans a bit too heavily on mystery cliche in defining his protagonist, but in general the film-noir sensibility meshes well with the political story. Apr 9, 2020 Full Review Simran Hans Observer (UK) With his prominent, avian nose and inquisitive eyes, Fares is a compelling screen presence, while Salehh's attention to details of life in a country on the brink of change give things a sense of grimy perspicuity. Rated: 4/5 Mar 4, 2018 Full Review Kevin Maher Times (UK) ... one of those extremely tense and increasingly violent yarns where the guilt runs all the way to the top. Rated: 4/5 Mar 2, 2018 Full Review Andrew Todd Birth.Movies.Death. As the film reaches its bleak, desolate, lonely ending, it almost precisely evokes the moody imagery of the ending of Chinatown. Sep 1, 2019 Full Review Víctor López G. Espinof Fantastically interpreted, and executed with skill and nerve by an obsessed with details Tarik Saleh. [Full Review in Spanish] Jul 24, 2019 Full Review Kaitlyn Booth Bleeding Cool It's a captivating story with a hell of an ending. Rated: 8/10 May 24, 2019 Full Review Read all reviews
