Laden with flimsy jump scares and cheap stereotypes, The Other Side of the Door wastes solid work from Sarah Wayne Callies on thoroughly middling horror fare.

Anon A Extremely underrated. Fun watch. The horror movie genre is very difficult to succeed in. While this movie employs a few cliches, it is not nearly as bad as these reviews make it out to be. Definitely worth watching, especially if you've already watched most of the popular movies of this genre. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/28/24 Full Review Herbert M Saw a TikTok recommendation so have it a chance despite the score here. Super confused at the hate, it's a fun jump scare, some fun twists, super watchable Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/15/23 Full Review Danielle H I enjoyed this movie a lot more than I expected based on its low score here. It was interesting, built tension really well, and while it had some jump scares it didn't rely on them to carry the movie. I'd definitely watch this again. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 08/13/23 Full Review Kikavelity The main character was a little bit dumb in the movie they didn't show the ritual if it was real or not but the movie'star plot was great and the scare's too Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/18/23 Full Review Lavi S i watched this when i was 8 and it didn't scare me at all so that's an indicator Rated 1 out of 5 stars 11/02/22 Full Review Audience Member Plot summary: Mother who unfortunately lost her child can't follow simple instructions when she gets given one last chance to say a final goodbye and causes disaster upon her entire family due to her stupidity What part of "do not open the door" did she not understand Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/17/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Sara Michelle Fetters MovieFreak.com Even if this effort isn't quite up to snuff I still feel like [Roberts has] got a picture in him that potentially will be. Rated: 2/4 Aug 15, 2016 Full Review Marjorie Baumgarten Austin Chronicle Effective performances by the principals are unable to surmount the movie's many cliches, although the actors render them more endurable. Rated: 2/5 Mar 10, 2016 Full Review Mark Kermode Observer (UK) Ghost-train fare - mostly mechanical and largely unsurprising. Rated: 2/5 Mar 6, 2016 Full Review Brian Eggert Deep Focus Review Bound to be forgotten by those who can get through its 96-minute runtime without walking out of the theater or shutting it off at home. Dec 7, 2020 Full Review Joey Keogh Wicked Horror With less than a 100-minute long run-time... a nonsensical premise, shoddy execution on practically every level and absolutely no scares whatsoever, The Other Side Of The Door is best avoided at all costs.
