Maria (Sarah Wayne Callies) becomes consumed with guilt after losing her son Oliver (Logan Creran) in a tragic accident. She learns about a remote Hindu temple where visitors can communicate with the dead to say goodbye for the last time. The grieving mother disobeys a dire warning to never open the ancient door that serves as a mysterious portal. Her failure to follow the rules causes Oliver's restless spirit to return home and haunt the rest of his family (Jeremy Sisto, Sofia Rosinsky).

If you want to be scared out of your mind, I suggest you choose a different film - Paranormal Activity perhaps. The other side of the door was an idea that had some potential, but it definitely doesn't live up to it.

The film "The other side of the door" is a horror film which I'd say that it is not that much scary. This plot follows a typical horror plot, following what shouldn't be done and suffering afterwards.However I think it shows unconditional love of mothers ( both Maria and Piki) towards their kids.

Extremely underrated. Fun watch. The horror movie genre is very difficult to succeed in. While this movie employs a few cliches, it is not nearly as bad as these reviews make it out to be. Definitely worth watching, especially if you've already watched most of the popular movies of this genre.
