The Other Story's arc is familiar and unpredictable at the same time, because people are flawed and family relationships are complicated. When you think the story's going left and it turns right, it is paced well to let you catch your breath. The script knows when to be quiet because people aren't sure what to say next. The Israeli religious community setting is not essential; these big little dramas can, and do, happen anywhere. I liked it more than I thought I would.

This has all the ingredients of a good film, including a cast of disparate characters, all of whom I couldn't help but like even though some of them didn't like each other much. It's also a memorable film, one that you will think back on a lot after watching it. Highly recommended.
