Gisela Pereira's charming film is about love, war and self-sacrifice with a pinch of Celtic magic. If you like fairies, unicorns and druids, then you cannot go wrong with this life-like fantasy, where actors/actresses are flesh and blood and not artificial puppets. The mystical tale is beautifully captured through the captivating choice of diverse landscapes. I for one particularly admired the intricate detail of costume design and set production. I felt each character was colorfully bought to life through their mystical adornments, portraying the beauty of the other world. The film also conveys elements of adventure, romance and action and the visual features succeed in conveying the compelling love story between Lugh and Immrama.
