When learning happens, the identity as "teacher" or "student" disappears, and the best teacher is the one who is learning most. Qui Discit doscet ("Who teaches, learns") Tthese janitors tell their stories, and the most impressive thing is their depth and humility. "Ten minutes of conversation with a wise person is worth ten years in a library." Enjoy, and take notes, ye wise ones! This was a rather different way to look at those who work where we work and learn. I know for myself when I am at school I always say hello to whichever janitor is around me, but I never really think much of who they are as individuals, and I usually think what happened in their lives that had them end up cleaning after me and my classmates. The idea never occurred to me that someone would actually like that job, and having the opportunity to be around so many different types of people and having the ability to learn new things from others. This is something to watch if you have ever wondered about janitors or want to be able to see a few different people for who they really are. This movie is damn amazing for a blank slate documentary with no real slant or bias, just a clear picture of simple people living the beatific life in different paths. if you like the idea of humanity you will like this movie.
