Gianmarco R Brilliant film that succeeds thanks only to dialogue to get you into the plot like few other films do. Extremely entertaining and original, it demonstrates how even without showing anything a film can entertain and intrigue beyond belief. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/30/21 Full Review alex h Genovese really got me thrilled while watching "Perfect Strangers", but when I decided to check "The Place" out, I was really disappointed. The entire movie is like a consultation and the setting does not change at all. There is no actual good plot twists and the dialogue is boring at some times. I admire that this movie is being held on dialogue, but it didn't get me interested at all after the first 30 minutes. The actors are not playing really well and the story seems banal and predictable. You can't build up something like that on dialogue only, so I felt like if i spent 3 hours watching a 1 hour 40 minute movie. It is like 1 never ending scene with just time switches, which also got into my eye very poorly, therefore making the entire movie unpleasant to watch. "Perfect Strangers" was fun and thrilling, this movie tries to do everything the same way but fails. I wouldn't really recommend it and would say it's a skip, a mediocre attempt to make thrilling dialogue movie, 4/10. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Between 3 and 3.5 stars. Solid, ellegantly crafted, well thought, it is also a little tricky and leads to no much conclussion but a general evaluation of human behaviour. So, very well done, but too much artifitial. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/25/23 Full Review Audience Member Masterpiece. Plain and simple Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/04/23 Full Review nefasto r The idea of this movie is simply brilliant and new, and I love "New" in the things I watch. Then I found out that is not new at all but is a cinematographic adaptation of the series "The Booth at the End"... but was new for me while watching it, so beside to have probably ruin the series for future me, I guess I can't take away the feeling of novelty. That, plus the fact that the movie is filled up with good actors and direction, and I found myself with a winner! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Superb performances and excellent screenplay with an interesting take on loneliness and agency Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/24/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
