Ed Travis Hollywood Jesus Within 10 minutes I was thinking to myself that this could be a really good movie. And in the end, I found it to be powerful, graceful, and challenging. Seek out The Presence. Apr 1, 2020 Full Review Read all reviews

B D Very bad film I love Mira but she is so thin and lifeless in this film. Should never have been made. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 05/26/23 Full Review carol d My feeling is that the reviewers of The Presence have missed the point. While it may be that the Ghost is some guy looking for a soulmate (pun excused), I think the two words he utters at the end of the movie explain it all. We've heard that Sorvino's father molested her—in fact, that's the driving force of her despair. After the Ghost screams—his despair—he says, or she hears, "Forgive me." That is all we know of his presence, there in that cabin where he and his daughter (Sorvino) spent time. I posit that he is the ghost of her father, chained to the site of his offenses, with no hope of making amends till now. When he asks for forgiveness, the light-filled ghost comes to take him to heaven at last. One doesn't have to be of a religious nature to see this film as an allegory. Perhaps we could take from it that forgiveness, redemption, is possible always. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member High School theater at it's finest! Just kidding. I shouldn't insult HS theater. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/23/23 Full Review Audience Member I am a very tough judge when it comes to theological thrillers and this one was great. If you're looking for D-list blood and guts, this isn't for you. This is a thoughtful film about a haunting. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/17/23 Full Review Audience Member We didnt even get an hour into this. First 10 min into it the gohst (West) is just standing and sitting around... And when the woman gets there you just watch her move about the cabin.... Finaly her boyfriend gets there and another g ok hst starts whispering paranoia in her ear..... Its really boring and makes bo sense. .... I get that the director was going for a certain "angle"???? But over i say this movie is an EPIC FAIL I didnt even want to give it half a star... Id rather watch a horor movie about Barnie.... Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/29/23 Full Review Audience Member I liked this film. It's a different type of horror. It poses many types of questions. Maybe too many questions. It's really slow in the first half and then picks up nicely. Wonderfully acted and beautifully shot Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/05/23 Full Review Read all reviews
