Kimber Myers Los Angeles Times Ultimately "The Ranger" promises more than it delivers. Sep 6, 2018 Full Review Katie Rife AV Club Wexler has interpreted her influences thoughtfully and inverted them cleverly. It's the smart kind of dumb fun. Rated: B Aug 17, 2018 Full Review Kristen Yoonsoo Kim Village Voice Couldn't be more insipid. Aug 15, 2018 Full Review Patrick Cavanaugh The Wolfman Cometh Pays its respects to the storied history of iconic slashers, only to serve more as a disappointing homage to the '80s without offering anything new. Rated: 2/5 Feb 5, 2021 Full Review Alix Turner Ready Steady Cut The Ranger is like many other films, but it definitely has a character all of its own and is very entertaining. I thought it might be a fun-but-standard slasher, and I'm glad to say there was lots more to it than that. Rated: 4/5 Feb 2, 2021 Full Review Emilie Black Cinema Crazed The Ranger is a fun, bloody romp in the woods that will please slasher and punk fans alike. It's a simple film, but highly enjoyable. Audience Member It is not exactly "good" movie but i genuinely enjoyed it and it kept me captivated throughout the entire movie. As someone from the punk scene I wouldn't call this a well represented movie regarding being punk. However I think that it is a nice movie and I might even watch it again. The ending was kinda weird but I loved it because it was so out of pocket Rated 4 out of 5 stars 10/19/24 Full Review Jose B So far half way into the movie it is building. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 07/20/23 Full Review Audience Member Most of the characters (except Chelsea and The Ranger) are boring and one dimensional... the rest of the content doesn't do much better, with dumb kills and dumb plot logic... yawn Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/15/23 Full Review Audience Member Didn't commit to making the hate-able characters deaths feel well-deserved or cathartic, yet simultaneously didn't make any of the other characters actually likeable. Still, The Ranger is at least not one of those "dime-a-dozen" sort of movies, there's enough different here to keep me invested for the length of the movie. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/22/23 Full Review Cash C Critics are idiots. Low budget crap. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 03/05/20 Full Review Audience Member Pretty fun ride. I almost want to watch it again to get some of The Ranger's quotes. I think he muttered something about entering and exiting the park through designated paths and it cracked me up. Are there any spoilers possible? We all know what happens when kids go camping in a horror movie. The Ranger does not disappoint. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/17/23 Full Review Read all reviews
