If you like Wes Anderson and Roald Dahl--it's perfect. It's sooooo Wes Anderson. If you don't like Wes Anderson, and creepy fairy tales, like the original Brothers Grimm, pass.

It is in this film, the most, seemingly, dialogue-laden of the three shorter Dahl-by-Anderson films, the director shows his trademark irony and, very intriguingly, starkly dark images. I believe that this may be the first time that Anderson has ventured into a concept of this magnitude. I was not disappointed.

Rating: 7/10. 70/100. | I think I want to read Roald Dahl now. His captivating story telling is superb. How does he make me so intrigued and invested in these semi weird/surrealistic stories? I must study his genius. Oh, and Wes Anderson's too.

These films won't be for everyone. They are twee, self-consciously cute and in love with their own cleverness. But, if you or the nippers feel like a short movie, full of great performances and very good jokes, I reckon they are a treat.
