Audience Member Don't be fooled with this film's trailer! The movie actually gave me the creeps, especially at it's last 15 minutes. A very good one! Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/20/23 Full Review Audience Member a comical premise and moving tale of our attraction to delicious smells. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/13/23 Full Review Audience Member a funny disjointed tabloid mystery unravelled. the unique ingredients are interesting... especially the piglet-assisted soybean cultivation :) Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/11/23 Full Review Audience Member The story brews and ferments gradually just like the Doenjang, during this process the many elements of the story marry and creates a most scrumptious delectable feast for the soul! Feels like a magical, mystical, foodie roadtrip of the senses! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Audience Member Sentimental pap, which furthermore makes good cooking a matter of super-special fairy girl-ness and butterflies and not you know, process and technique. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/20/23 Full Review jesse o If you'd like to see a film that is like Romeo and Juliet had a baby with Rachel Ray's cooking show then this is the film for you. It really isn't as bad as it sounds, but I wouldn't say it's good either. I think the movie works best as a whimsical mystery and following the reporter trying to figure out what was up with this woman and her stew that had an otherworldly quality to them that would calm a serial killer, give a man back his sense of smell and simply put everybody around her stew and its smell in a trance. The story, even before you find out what made the stew (ie: the romance stuff near the end), isn't great. It's just not particularly interesting to follow, the reporter goes from person to person finding out little details that then lead to a bigger question that needs to be answer. Then when he finds out that answer, there are even more questions left. I think the story should've been simplified, it didn't need to be as elaborate as it was. The romance stuff isn't really any better. It's corny and, unsurprisingly, melodramatic. The movie is never bad, and again the mysterious and whimsical aspects of the film were good and the movie does have a solid cast, but the story isn't good and more elaborate than it needs to be. Still an average film at best though, so it's not all terrible, but I wouldn't recommend it either. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Read all reviews
