Audience Member Beautiful film about a young man trapped in a body that was wasting away but who led an amazingly fulfilling life through his interaction with other gamers in the World of Warcraft community. Shatters your illusions about what is possible and healthy about online gaming, especially when limitations of the physical world can be transcended within a digital community. Some of his most meaningful relationships with many others are described and some of the real people behind the avatars are interviewed. The richness of his life that his parents only found out about after his death is truly remarkable. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/19/24 Full Review Emily L We cried almost the entire way through this. Mats has a dry sense of humor and cutting whit and yet he is so secretive and the long game really served him well. His parents must be so proud and relieved. It’s truly incredible how powerful a kind heart is even if all other tools at your disposal are gradually stripped away. I love the spotlight this shines on the many people who feel safer in gaming life to express themselves and be themselves … how these tend to be very intelligent people who don’t want to live by superficial conventional order. Mats had no choice … choice or not, they all were connected by this common thread of intelligent sensitivity. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/09/24 Full Review Nikos M A powerful story, touching and uplifting. Turning pain to pride, a testimony to the incredible strength of the spirit. No spectacular victories or epic achievement, but the incredible effort of a human mind to reclaim what nature refused: friends, community, appeciation, the feeling of belonging and contributing. A beautifully orchestrated narrative of a short life that ended with a powerful message to us all. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/01/24 Full Review Hilja G An incredibly incredibly moving documentary that left me continuously crying throughout. It captures the startling difference between how you experience your life and how the people around you perceive it. No mater what you have to power to change another persons life for the better, you just have to be there, listen and show that you care for them. Show them that they mean something. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/30/24 Full Review Priscilla C This documentary is beyond words! I am not a gamer and you don’t have to be one to enjoy this film. It will stay with you long after it ends. A real story of love and friendships and the differences we make in each other’s lives. I have a whole new perspective on the online gaming community. Heads up you will cry, you will reflect and you most certainly will feel! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/28/24 Full Review Diêgo I Wonderful, a very moving story shown in a very creative way.
