It's also purely a heartbreaking look at what alcoholism can do to a person mentally; constantly telling themselves they were not a good enough human being to deserve the love of friends and family around them

Jake The Man makes for pure documentary gold, with his salty turns of phrase, busted heart, and that tiny sliver of hope which he clings to like a boa constrictor even in his darkest hours.

Doesn't reinvent the wheel, but makes accessible and inspiring the real story of a man in progress, working toward rehabilitation. The heartfelt effort and brotherhood of the film's charismatic wrestling superstar subjects are its true brilliance.

A worthy movie but it didn't need to be so long. There were too many repeated scenes of dudes crying it out and shilling ddp yoga. Nice to see that Hall and Roberts turned their lives around though.

The story follows Jake "The Snake" Roberts on his road to recovery after living a life too centred on drink and drug. Diamond Dallas Paige helps him on his road to recovery as Jake gets reacquainted with some of his children who had long before given up on him. DDP also helps Scott Hall (Razor Ramon) who is in even worse shape. The documentary is somewhat amateurish and slow, centred on a frustratingly childish character. Watch Beyond the Mat first.
