From critically acclaimed writer-director Andrew de Burgh ("The Bestowal") comes an origin story of a new horror villain. In modern-day Los Angeles, Rocio Scotto (Blumhouse's "AfrAId") stars as Zara Pereira, a struggling Hollywood actress stuck in a miserable marriage with psychopathic salesman Robert (Jason Faunt, "Power Rangers"). After they host a dinner party with their friends Derek Patel (Raj Jawa, "Free Guy") and Maya Valentina (Kylie Rohrer, "I Joined a Cult") that goes horribly wrong, Zara's new persona "The Seductress from Hell" is born. Summoning the power of Satan, she sets out on a mission to seduce, torture and murder the people she deems responsible for how her life turned out. With a film producer smitten by her (James Hyde, Netflix's "Monarca") and an unhinged cop on her tail (Andy Lauer, "Screamers"), can she be stopped before she becomes an immortal supervillain?

The Seductress from Hell lacks the courage of its convictions and wastes an intriguing premise by undermining any initial tension. Preferring instead to focus on social commentary and water down horrific elements, which is what audiences really wanted.

It’s a deliciously demented premise and Scotto does a very good job as Zara arcs from being a sheepish, put-upon victim to a murderous, decidedly misandrist predator.

So what's the problem? In a nutshell, it's this: The Seductress From Hell spells out a lot of things we could assume, glean or accept quite readily without being told, whilst dodging some of the key details which we could really do with knowing.
