Richard Propes TheIndependentCritic.com It's such an intelligent and authentically written film that it could very well lead to valuable discussions and personal examination. Rated: 3.5/4.0 Sep 22, 2020 Full Review Read all reviews

andy f The Seminarian certainly had the potential to be an interesting and thought-provoking movie, but it repeatedly fails at every juncture. There are too many unnecessary scenes that could've been deleted to move along the narrative. And there are other scenes that hover in the air, but remain unresolved. Did Ryan finally realize that Bradley is hopeless? Is there any room for the lovesick Gerald? Do you think Mom, yet another holy-roller, is suddenly going to be receptive to her only child's coming out? Does his master's thesis pass at this repressive college? So what are the viewers left with? Almost two hours of self-pity, hopeless longing for the wrong guy, and too many unanswered questions. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member The WORST movie!! I kept screaming at the TV to have the actors pick up their cues!!! Haha. I'm sure the story was decent, but I was too busy laughing at the lame-ness of it all to see it lol. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/17/23 Full Review Audience Member I believe it tried to make a point here- but in a very hardcore, spoon-feeding way, on top of those terrible, amateurish directing, writing, acting & production. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/04/23 Full Review Audience Member "A" for effort but nothing more than a "D-" for execution Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Slow & Not Very Intriguing Whatsoever. Makes The Same-Sex Love Scene Appear Far More Bland Then What Grinder, Adult-Matchmaker Or The Mardi-Gra's Might Have You Believe. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/21/23 Full Review Audience Member A FILM FOR THE INTELLIGENT, DISCERNING VIEWER The Seminarian is a very thought-provoking movie that challenges what love is, who God is, what it means to be a gay Christian. Great movie to watch as a prelude for meaningful discussions Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/15/23 Full Review Read all reviews
