Luke Gorham In Review Online In the absence of any technical bravura and emotional foundation, The Shepherd lives and dies according to its supernatural tilt, which is met with baffling incuriosity; it’s the movie equivalent of an affectless monotone. Dani G Meh! Nothing to say, really Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 06/25/24 Full Review nilufer e Oh Disney, why do you have to be so corny? It was obvious from the start, so predictable and boring. I might have enjoyed it if I was a child though. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 03/23/24 Full Review Lucero D No me gustó, boooooo boooooo 👾 Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/27/24 Full Review Tobias M Bad CGI. Bad acting of the main character inside the aircraft. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/16/24 Full Review John H Sadly, it can't hold a candle to the short story on which it is based. The narrative of the short story was mostly from the pilot's internal monologue, which the film decided to swap in for a bunch of spoken monologuing on behalf of the young pilot- with predictably cringey results. John Travolta, likewise, had a lot of lines to replace the terse hand signals from the novel. He also made no pretense of an English accent despite being a British pilot flying an RAF aircraft… the special effects were also quite cut rate in a few areas (the cheesy aurora among them). Two stars for a few moments of genuine emotion from the pilot as he became resigned to ditching at sea- which is more the original author's credit than the film. Otherwise, a disappointment. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/17/24 Full Review Dennis R Beautiful, moving and haunting (not in a scary way). The acting is superb and the music is moving. A must see.
