Audience Member This showcases, for the most part, the hip hop artists who were rising in popularity in the early-1990s. From Dr. Dre to Wu-Tang Clan, there are some insights into rap music's influence on global scale. There's also some look back at the artists from the 1980s, such as Run-DMC and then incarcerated Slick Rick. I think what would have made this a better documentary is if there was more emphasis on the West Coast, and even Southern, Hip Hop scene, not just East Coast Hip Hop or Def Jam artists. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/19/23 Full Review Audience Member Wu Tang in Japan, Slick Rick in prison and RUN DMC make this documentary a must watch.
