YesBoi D A documentary that exposes the double edged sword of the internet, all while having good direction is something we all needed Rated 4 out of 5 stars 04/07/24 Full Review Harrison R Everyone needs to see this movie, even if it's dull at times. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/04/24 Full Review Audience Member A must see! The Social Dilemma is a thought provoking must see documentary. I can't believe this was released back in 2020 and I'm just now seeing this. This is part documentary and also mini film combined. I left watching this analyzing how I'm spending time on social media and how it affects my daily life. When you watch this you will think about it more as well. It's scary how big tech companies are mining away at people who use their platforms to get more money for selling ads. This documentary was so interesting/informative and breezes by at a brisk 1 hour 30 minutes. This is one documentary that is very important to watch and one that families should see together. The Social Dilemma gets high marks across the board from me and gets 4 1/2 stars out of 5 from me. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/24/24 Full Review Nico Watched this documentary in my English class and then wrote a 4 1/4 page essay on why I believe it wasn't persuasive. Wanted to come on here to just give a shorter version of why I believe this. For starters; it can't even be considered a documentary. In broad terms, documentaries are factual and objective. Meaning that they give the facts while covering both sides if it. Movies, on the other hand are story telling, in simple terms. This movie follows a narrative and a story line that is all in all confusing as hell. It's extremely one sided as well. Usually, when presented information from one side of an argument in the topic the documentary is covering, the other side also gets covered. However, the only interviewees there was were people who agreed with the opinion that the movie is ultimately portraying. For my third reason; there's times where things that are said are completely contradictory to a previous thing having been said. In conclusion; this is a boring non-persuasive movie, not documentary, that even a toddler wouldn't find impressionable in any form. In all honestly, props to the movie for that one! Toddlers are extremely impressionable yet the movie won't be. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/18/24 Full Review Brady K The kid with the Lisp made me mad and uncomfortable Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 06/21/23 Full Review Brendan C Greatest piece of cinema ever created. I love The Social Dilemma. I can't wait for The Social Dilemma 2. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/20/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Mark Kennedy Associated Press The film reveals much more than why you go from Googling the best sofa one minute to finding sofa ads on your Facebook stream the next. Rated: 2.5/4 Oct 30, 2020 Full Review Elizabeth Pankova The New Republic As The Social Dilemma shows, entertainers are in no rush to hold us, or themselves, accountable. Oct 9, 2020 Full Review Brad Newsome Sydney Morning Herald For many of us, the concept of algorithms is hard to grasp, but this documentary-drama hybrid is imaginative and effective in showing how they work as Silicon Valley veterans unpack many of the myriad horrors they helped create. Sep 30, 2020 Full Review Yasser Medina Cinefilia The documentary has an interesting start that reaches its strong point precisely by questioning the negative impact of social networks, but whose lack of answers, as a rule, remains subject to a tautological and futile horizon.
