"Somewhere in South Africa, 1977." Lazarus is a man who carries a heavy burden: he is condemned to collect souls to feed his undead daughter. He meets a family who recently moved to the farmhouse where he worked before, dooming the destiny or their adopted daughter. "The Soul Collector" is deeply poignant and it evokes the local mysticism and folklore of African culture.

This movie was an interesting take on how strong a parents love can be. It was heartbreaking at moments and had me tearing up towards the end. All of that was taken with the ‘twist' ending. It wasn't good. Predictable even. The movie was excellent until the last 5 minutes. Then I felt like I had just wasted almost two hours of my time. I wouldn't watch it again. I certainly won't recommend it to anyone either.

It was an okay horror movie, I was expecting a little more on the horror side but it was spooky enough and mysterious to begin with. Also had a good plot unlike many of its genre.
