Cute sci-fi/fantasy movie, although the science isn't very accurate, it does have a sweet love story. The writing and pacing were not great but it definitely doesn't deserve the hate it's gotten.

Cute little love story. Medical science and space travel verité not the film's strong points. Neither is Gary Oldman. Oldman makes a great villain. See The Fifth Element Playing straight characters, he's just a complete dud. A gassed up, over-enthusiastic dud.

Amazed at the hate this movie has gotten. A decent movie for what it intends to be. Novel story, good acting and a feel good ending. Definitely cheesy moments, but I presume that was the intent. Likely not meant to have a deeper meaning than just a teenage kid that steps on Earth for the first time.
