Joel H The Spirit of Christmas is a little different than many other Hallmark-style holiday rom-coms because it starts with a murder. However, while the beginning of the story is intriguing, this film spins its wheels for a long time and then ends with a thud more than a bang. I thought Jen Lilley (Kate) did a good job in parts, but she doesn't seem to have very much range. And Thomas Beaudoin (Daniel) didn't require much range in his acting, because he spends most of the movie just lurking and brooding. I enjoyed moments of The Spirit of Christmas, but overall I found it lacking the magic I was expecting. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 11/03/23 Full Review Taylor L The plot of this movie is strange and truly makes no sense and yet I continue to watch it several times each December. I could not pinpoint what I find so charming about Spirit of Christmas, even if pressed; still, I recommend it to all my friends. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 12/21/22 Full Review Audience Member This is one of my all time favorite Christmas movies. The acting isn't the best but the plot is 10/10:) Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/14/23 Full Review craig r excellent , romantic fantasy. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member What's most haunting about this schmaltzy made-for-TV Hallmark/Lifetime schlock is that white-as-a-ghost women will eat it up like the rest of the Christmas cheese on their plates. Cannonical scale: 2/5 — Dan Aykroyd busting from a ghost is much, much funnier. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/30/23 Full Review Audience Member Cute Christmas movie with a touch of spookiness.
