Synopsis
This documentary tells the tragic story of the Struma, a ship used to transport Romanian Jews to safety during the Holocaust. Over 700 would-be escapees occupy the small craft, destined for safety in Palestine. But, because of British limits on immigration to the territory, the refugees are turned away when they reach Turkish waters. Unable to reach their destination, the ship and its passengers are left to defend themselves against a submarine in the Black Sea.
