Noel Murray Los Angeles Times Even bad horror movies can have their pleasures, and here it's Kilmer who gives "The Super" a kick. Oct 18, 2018 Full Review Frank Scheck The Hollywood Reporter It offers a few decent scares as well as the opportunity for Val Kilmer to once again display his unique brand of screen charisma. Oct 17, 2018 Full Review Maitland McDonagh Film Journal International How surprising the story's twist ending turns out to be depends on how thoroughly steeped in horror moves the viewer is, but it's well executed down to small details. Nov 9, 2018 Full Review Tom Bedford Film Inquiry The Super has the occasional moment of great horror filmmaking - but not enough to make it a super film. Nov 1, 2018 Full Review Jonathan Hatfull SciFiNow It's not without its charms and you could certainly do worse, but don't expect too much from The Super. Rated: 2/5 Oct 24, 2018 Full Review Rob Staeger L.A. Weekly "I was in The motherf**king Wire!" I imagine that thought was running through the head of Paul Ben-Victor as he grouched his way through The Super. Oct 22, 2018 Full Review Read all reviews

Jeff B SPOILER WARNING The ending makes no sense as throughout the movie others directly refer to Rose and are introduced to her. This is a major plot hole and ruined an otherwise good movie IMO. Beverly's actions at the end also make no sense because whether she believes Violet's account of the events from 7 years ago or Rose's account, Rose would be dead in either case and thus Walter's ritual casting Rose out of the living world would make sense. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 09/18/24 Full Review Tyler T Val Kilmer saves it, solid movie until the ending. Bombed it at the end Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Trey W Rather enjoyed it, looking for a sequel. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/27/23 Full Review Audience Member Super creepy and super tense, will keep you... super-guessing??? Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/07/23 Full Review Audience Member The Twist was good but the ending was really bad Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member The first scene was the highlight of the movie for me.
