Mark Jenkins Washington Post Director Won Sin-yeon skillfully emulates the you-are-there-but-where-the-heck-is-that? style of the "Bourne" movies. Rated: 2.5/4 Dec 17, 2015 Full Review Tom Keogh Seattle Times It's only January, yet perhaps not too soon to call "The Suspect" one of the best popcorn movies of the year. Rated: 3/4 Dec 17, 2015 Full Review Tirdad Derakhshani Philadelphia Inquirer It's grown-up, deadly serious, and free of the ham-handed romantic subplots that mire so many films from the region in ick stew. Rated: 2.5/4 Dec 17, 2015 Full Review Andrew Heskins easternKicks.com An utterly ridiculous and over-the-top action movie from director Won Shin-yeon (Seven Days, A Bloody Aria), but at least it knows what it is... Rated: 3.5/5 Sep 24, 2020 Full Review Michael Nordine L.A. Weekly Witnessing this play out is more exhausting than exciting. Dec 17, 2015 Full Review Daniel Eagan Film Journal International Handsomely mounted, the movie looks just like other big-budget blockbusters at first. But it doesn't take long to realize that The Suspect is imitation entertainment. Dec 17, 2015 Full Review Read all reviews

Calvin O What this movie is, is a compact version of other modern Hollywood action movies. And that isn't necessary a good thing. I could tell they were aiming to make a great action movie and I really could see the effort, especially when it comes to the cinematography. Even if the camera work is all over the place, especially during the action sequences. The thing is, if you are a audience member that is already in tune with most Hollywood action movies will see a lot of similar bits in this one. Especially the "Bourne" movies which I actually saw quite a bit of similarities from. Yeah, some of the action set pieces was cool to watch, but nothing really new and it has been done before. Even the character interaction and acting does come off a bit pretentious and over the top. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 08/10/25 Full Review Kairy L The Suspect is more or less your typical action film. Though Gong Yoo does his best to captivate the viewer with his performance. The story is relatively lack luster and predictable. A one off watch, but not one I'd rewatch. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/25/25 Full Review Dante R Excellent the Asian Jason 👏🏾 bourne Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/04/24 Full Review Dick C Im Sang-yoon writes a good script... Won Shin-yun directs great for this motion picture, The Suspect, 2013... Gong Yoo portrays fairly good and Park Hee-soon also does his acting job...
