Audience Member Crazily gripping, intense story about a man accused of murder inside the cell of a jail. Important not only for the history of Australia, but for our knowledge and wisdom regarding the subject. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/13/23 Full Review Audience Member You're left much more in the dark about the guy who died than the cop, which is probably to be expected, but tempts you to make assumptions. It does seem fairly even handed, but doesn't offer much hope. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/20/23 Full Review Audience Member It's always good to know more about people struggling around the world. This will open your eyes for a bit. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/09/23 Full Review Audience Member Not a patch on the book, which is one of the best books I've ever read. Where the book is multi-faceted, spending each alternate chapter on aboriginal mythology, Queensland, and life on Palm Island, the documentary is a straight ahead look at the incident and the coronial inquest. It's heart rending stuff, but it would be a shame for people only to see the movie and not read the book. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/21/23 Full Review Audience Member Every Australian should see this movie! Ironically, what appears to be a story concerning the oppression of indigenous australians by the white man is actually two stories....the story of state department hypocrisy, consealment and abuse of civil powers, and a concerning and startling insight into the possible plight and future of young indigenous australians. First class doco! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/31/23 Full Review Read all reviews
