Martin Tsai Los Angeles Times "Peter Brook" evinces the how without ever bothering to address the who, what, where, when and why. Even the press notes offer scant information. Without any context, the film loses the uninitiated from the opening. Apr 10, 2014 Full Review Frank Scheck Hollywood Reporter This clinical documentary will be of interest only to serious students of acting. Feb 12, 2014 Full Review Peter Rainer Christian Science Monitor The Tightrope may have started out as a nuts-and-bolts documentation of a theatrical workshop, but inevitably it becomes something much more than that -- an expression of the elation we feel when we experience theatrical magic. Audience Member As a piece of cinema, this is not exactly great. However, as a concise and systematic look into one of the processes of famed director Peter Brook it becomes a stunning dive into the level of intimacy and innovation an actor can carve out from one simple exercise. This is very much made for actors, directors, and other professionals in theatre to use as a source of inspiration for various forms of training within an artistic process. At times it is very enigmatic, but out of the mystery evolves a transcendent experience. Truly a beautiful exhibition. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Read all reviews
