Richard Whittaker Austin Chronicle 03/30/2021

Even at a sparse 80 minutes, the build of the tension and set-up of Cami and Spencer's mistrusting relationship is too extended. If the film is asking asking you to pay it in time, the return on investment may seem a little low. Go to Full Review

The toll to be collected here is 80 minutes of your time. The most terrifying thing you can do is pay it. Go to Full Review

Michael Nader keeps it lean and mean for his first horror feature, and the result is a creepy winner. Go to Full Review

The Toll feels like it wants to make a point about women surviving in a world that’s designed to hurt them, but ultimately it just asks them to keep accepting the hurt in the name of entertainment. Go to Full Review

The intro is tense and suspenseful, but by the end it’s inability to sell or even explain its big baddie left me questioning the point of the entire second half. Go to Full Review

The Toll keeps getting more silly and second-hand, until it springs a late "twist" which haplessly undermines the logic of most character behavior before it. Go to Full Review

David M. @mdav001 Nov 16 Very good low budget movie. Keeps ur attention. I feel they took the easy way out at the end. See more Tod G Feb 12 I enjoyed it w good scare parts. See more Emilliano Jr S 08/17/2024 Scary, intense, superb. See more Craig B @Boundsy 08/14/2024 Jordan Hayes and Max Topplin are okay in this passable horror flick. It’s not particularly scary, but it does have an interesting premise. Thankfully, at a touch over 80 minutes, you won’t have wasted much time on this once you get to the end and discover you really wish you could have that time back again. See more Hugo 11/04/2022 Indie movie with an eerie atmosphere and a solid performance despite its limited resources. "The Toll" does a great job in playing tricks with our minds until the very end.
