Meagan Navarro Bloody Disgusting Mustonen’s attempts to subvert familiar tropes and clichés are over reliant on an ending that doesn’t entirely feel earned, wholly undermining its characters. It's all fakouts, devoid of scares. Rated: 2/5 May 6, 2022 Full Review Brian Tallerico RogerEbert.com The Twin is basically Midsommar meets The Boy, and yet not as fun as that mash-up might imply. Rated: 1/4 May 6, 2022 Full Review Luke Y. Thompson AV Club When a movie wants to make you scared of circles, it’s facing an uphill climb. Rated: C- May 4, 2022 Full Review Cheryl Eddy io9.com The direction the plot takes in its final act isn’t quite satisfying enough to justify pulling the rug out from beneath the entire film that came before...but it certainly sets The Twin apart from the many other films also built from similar DNA strands. Sep 14, 2022 Full Review José Roberto Landaverde Cine Premiere The Twin offers a horror film that doesn't succumb to the obvious. Cari S OK, but saw the plot before it was revealed. Troppi difetti. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 06/23/23 Full Review Mateusz C There was an idea, it does have its it's vibe, plot twist. But it's not enough, though i would like to see its remake because it have left feeling like this movie actually could be way better Rated 2 out of 5 stars 06/14/23 Full Review Neal B No scares at all, in a movie that resembles - but is inferior to - the great South Korean movie, "A Tale Of Two Sisters." Theresa Palmer - who was so good in "Lights Out" - does all she can with the half-baked plot. But you see the 'twist' coming almost from the start, and there's nowhere for the movie to go. 90 minutes, but seems endless. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 04/26/23 Full Review Elizabeth L The story itself was not bad, in fact I'd even call it interesting. However, this movie blatantly took iconic scenes from classic horror movies, especially Ari Aster movies (looking at you midsommar and hereditary) - and of course it got topped off with the "goodnight mommy" twist and ending, that I saw coming from a mile away but was hoping it would not be the case. This movie is bits and pieces of great movies out there, so yes; it's interesting, the acting is adequate, but there is absolutely nothing special about this movie. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/15/23 Full Review Audience Member Overall, this film packs in many pleasing horror ingredients, including the leading performance from Teresa Palmer, who is wonderful here and easily the biggest strength of this feature.  The film's musical score is impressive, and the same can be said about the style and visual look, along with its tones, thanks to the director Taneli Mustonen.  While the film begins with many fun questionable mysteries and dramatic moments, the third act is surprising.  Unfortunately, the plot details and side character outcomes are not well developed.  The twists are bold and surprising, but I couldn't help just wanting this film to end on a bigger note considering the fun and dark journey the viewers went on.
