Mr. and Mrs. Twit are the meanest, smelliest, nastiest people in the world who also happen to own and operate the most disgusting, most dangerous, most idiotic amusement park in the world, Twitlandia. But when the Twits rise to power in their town, two brave orphans and a family of magical animals are forced to become as tricky as the Twits in order to save the city. A hysterically funny, wild ride of a film (chock-full of the Twits' beloved tricks--from the Wormy Spaghetti to the Dreaded Shrinks), The Twits is also a story for our times, about the never-ending battle between cruelty and empathy.

Some of it feels a bit underdeveloped, but the suggestion that we could all be living in Twitlandia if we don’t find deeper wells of empathy on all sides feels like a valuable one. Go to Full Review

The Twits is exactly what one might imagine a Netflix Dahl adaptation to be: Diluted, simplistic animation, as cloying and feckless and smoothed over as anything from the last decade of Illumination films. Go to Full Review

Any of Dahl’s gruesome sense of fun is obliterated by a bulldozing message of empathy and kindness... This is vile and revolting in all the wrong ways. Go to Full Review

This is a mess, and even getting the dreaded shrinks cannot save us from its mediocrity. Go to Full Review

The CG picture-book aesthetic varies in quality, but the voice cast is largely excellent, with Martindale and Vegas especially enthusiastic as the crazed, slapstick villains. Go to Full Review

The tone never quite settles, and there's a sense of missed opportunity here in making something so specific just a bit too universal. Go to Full Review

K T 4d Once again the Netflix wokerati has put ‘diversity’ and white discrimination as their top priority rather good writing. See more @Whitetiger259 Dec 11 I'd rather watch the emoji movie than watch this again. I began to hate the main character in the first few minutes. It's not the animation, or the voice actors. The characters are dreadful to watch interact with each other, and even when you are fifty minutes in, it feels like it hasn't started yet due to the complete lack of excitement. WOULD NOT RECOMEND! See more Leanne K @Kiraman Dec 11 The animation's great makes me think about coraline, but the story's a bit all over the place. It feels like they threw every idea in there without really knowing where they were going. And honestly, way too many fart jokes. A few are fine when you're a kid, but this was just annoying. See more Google 1 @MovieFanaticX Dec 2 The animation - scary. It’s almost like Coraline. I thought this was a fun movie to show my class. I teach 2nd graders. Three of the kids asked me to turn it off after 15 minutes because they were scared. And I understand why. This is not a good kids movie! It’s super creepy with a very underdeveloped plot! The animation is creepy and the whole opening plot with gross meat contaminating waters and innocent creatures in cages being forced to cry by evil hillbillies is NOT child material. What were the directors and producers thinking when they made this??? See more Allyson W @allysonwriter Dec 2 What did I watch? A pitchy movie that, at times, was disgusting and contained too much potty humor. Like way too much potty humor. The characters are fleshed out to some extent, the animation is unique in it's own way, but the movie is crude and disturbing. A child's nightmare. See more Caidan K Dec 1 I am... Forever traumatized by the amount of fart jokes, and fart jokes, and fart jokes... Do they have a fart fetish..? Honestly, this movie is a joke compared to the book. Read the book instead... Also butt inflation? Really? Another fetish? See more Read all reviews
