The coming of age of a young girl, Radha in 1980s middle class India is an intimate and atmospheric portrait of a society in change. Surrounded by books and music, Radha has very little contact with Sundar, a boy who helps her lead a life of privilege. Sundar runs away and when she meets him years later, Radha considers that he may be more free than she is. In her thirties, in modern India, served again-this time by Umesh, she thinks of Sundar and seeks him out.
