A bullied teenager gains the means to fight back when a botched faith healing bestows supernatural, shamanistic powers upon him. When his lifelong tormentors pull a prank that causes the death of someone he loves, the teen uses his newfound abilities for revenge and goes on a bloody rampage to settle the score. This dark horror tale features performances from genre favorites Adam Beach, Branscombe Richmond, Natasha Henstridge, and Lance Henriksen. "Any fan of classic Stephen King should definitely check out The Unhealer" (Joanna K. Neilson, Horror DNA)... it unfolds with fun surprises and gore "like one of those shiny mid-career Wes Craven movies" (Dark Eyes of London).

Nathaniel Muir AIPT Characters are noticeably inconsistent, but the plot is a fun one that will keep audiences interested. An fun 80s throwback. Feb 13, 2022 Full Review Norman Gidney HorrorBuzz Overall, an entertaining yarn that, for the most part, works. Rated: 6/10 Feb 13, 2022 Full Review Alejandro Turdó Hoy Sale Cine The Unhealer is a clever and unconventional revenge story with a supernatural twist, guaranteed to keep you entertained for 90+ plus minutes with a satisfying amount of blood and gore. Rated: 8/10 Jan 22, 2022 Full Review Tony Asankomah GhMovieFreak Overall, the film is quite entertaining and enjoyable once you give it a chance. It is far from scary and isn't something you would consider 'horror' albeit having some ghastly scenes and a supernatural theme. Rated: 5/10 Jan 22, 2022 Full Review Andrew Stover Film Threat While the concept never reaches its full potential, at least the filmmaker tried to make it work on a paltry budget. That notwithstanding,The Unhealer is delightfully warped and ridiculously chaotic. Rated: 6.5/10 Jan 21, 2022 Full Review Josh Bell Crooked Marquee None of it is remotely scary, nor is it ever self-aware enough to be clever or funny. SkyRo P The Unhealer is a film that, while chaotic, manages to entertain in its own way. I wouldn't label it as a terrible movie, yet it didn't leave a lasting impression on me either. It falls into the category of forgettable films that serve their purpose in the moment but don’t warrant a second viewing. Gavin Casalegno delivered an impressive performance, evoking sympathy for his character while simultaneously conveying a sense of confusion and rage. The narrative does a decent job of exploring the character's struggles with his unusual powers, where self-harm translates into harm for others, especially after consuming their belongings. The concept of eating someone’s clothing was certainly unsettling and bizarre. On the other hand, the idea of inflicting pain on others through self-harm is an intriguing twist, drawing from Indian cultural themes that suggest an evil force at play. It presents a unique perspective as the character navigates his transformation. There’s even a hint at a potential sequel, which surprises me considering it seems like a missed opportunity, given that audiences seemed to enjoy the premise without fully embracing the film itself. One peculiar moment that stood out was his choice to chew on a jockstrap while targeting the bully. Although intended as comic relief, it felt excessive and bizarre. I understand the humor, but having a minor consume another minor’s jockstrap was definitely an odd choice. Overall, this film didn’t resonate with me, and I wouldn’t choose to watch it again. However, if you’re looking for something light and entertaining for a single viewing, it might be worth checking out. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/27/25 Full Review Steve U It's absurd that this has 83% here. It must have been written by a toddler, and the acting won't even bring it up to a "B movie"...the best this could hope for would be a "P movie" for piss-poor all around. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 03/23/25 Full Review John H How this garbage has an 83% critic review rating is beyond me. I was expecting much more in terms of pacing and engagement. Ridiculous in every way. I generally held RT critic review in high regard but boy that certainly turned around after seeing this. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 03/02/25 Full Review Obi-wan K It was a 4 till the end happend Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/25/25 Full Review Maor O A great bad movie. Sharknado started my love for good bad movies, and this is definitely on the list. The acting feels like the idea was "make it as stereotypical as humanly possible". I can't even guess how they got not one, but two native American actors to do that exorcism scene, a true testament to the human condition of needing to put food on the table. Great job! Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 10/24/24 Full Review Hope H I watched it because I love Elijah Nelson and Gavin Casalegno but it was actually a really good movie. It was very gory but that’s also cause it was a thriller and Horror. It’s not really scary but like I said it is a thriller. There can be some weird parts but also they follow with some really cool scenes! Overall it was an AMAZING movie and made me feel so many emotions! Plus Elijah Nelson was really good at portraying the character and you could definitely feel what his character “Kelly” was feeling. I would definitely watch -but I would say it is PG-13 because of the violence and bad words so watch it without kids- Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/16/24 Full Review Read all reviews
