tinker s I came looking for copper and I found silver. Very good, much better than I expected, since it is incredibly old. The entire idea, layout, background, planning, process, were almost perfect. I especially like the ending, because too many old movies have sh*t endings. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review isla s This is a portmanteau film, similar to Tales of the Crypt. It felt somewhat satisfying to see how various characters got their comeuppance, certainly. I thought the stories were, if anything, more interesting than the ones in Tales of the Crypt. I particularly liked the one about Asian mysticism/magic. There is a certain symbology used which is somewhat clever. However, there is, I felt, also an element of visual, slapstick but quite dark comedy about it and I suppose it was likely more spooky and potentially scary back when it was released (the late 1970s) but never the less, its still a good film to watch I'd say, so I'd recommend it, yes. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Liam D A good follow-up This horror movie is not as good as the original but it's still a fun movie. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 08/09/20 Full Review Audience Member Also known as Tales From the Crypt 2, this is as good or better than the original Tales From the Crypt. Be sure to look for the excellent unrated edition; there were scenes of gore originally cut out for some reason that have been restored on the Scream Factory Blu-ray release, but not the DVD. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 07/28/18 Full Review andy f It's not a bad anthology and the movie boasts a top notch cast. The Amicus films often end up being better than Hammer's and although a little silly this is a fun late night watch. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member Sequel to Tales From The Crypt. I liked it just as good as the first. Noel Murray The Dissolve The misanthropy of the Tales From The Crypt and Vault Of Horror movies is strangely enjoyable, because it comes packaged within some gleefully perverse ideas. Rated: 3.5/5 Nov 24, 2014 Full Review Tim Brayton Alternate Ending One of the more middleweight Amicus anthology films. Rated: 3/5 Nov 2, 2020 Full Review Matt Brunson Creative Loafing Its tales are of comparable quality to those found in its predecessor, Tales from the Crypt. Rated: 3/4 Aug 12, 2018 Full Review John Beifuss Commercial Appeal (Memphis, TN) Scream Factory has issued 'Vault' uncut in America for the first time, on Blu-ray; the transfer restores several gruesome visual punch lines, including one involving Glynis Johns, gap-toothed Terry Thomas, and a hammer.
