Audience Member I enjoyed the basic storyline but felt that the characters all fell a little flat except Kyle's character so that said I would recommend the movie if only to see how a great story can be ruined by not setting the table and fleshing out the characters. I believe that the movie title "The Victim" is appropriate and draws a distinction between the classes of society as either you are a drug addict stripper who uses men for drugs and money and therefore your life is of no value or you are the self entitled playing the game hypocrite upstanding citizen who hides behind the facade but is considered to be above reproach Spoiler ahead This is what was believable and ridiculously unbelievable in my opinion Believable Two party girls working the patrons for a good time and hooking up with men of social stature to enrich themselves while providing the men whatever bizarre or off limits behaviors shunned by society A guy living alone out in the woods with a troubled past who feels like he has got a raw deal even though through no fault of his own he lost in the game of life Two guys working on a small town sheriffs department who have a lot of dirt on people who take advantage of their positions of power to satisfy their lusts and who would actually murder someone who could have that taken all away by reporting what they have done Unbelievable Why would anyone not believe a hysterical half dressed woman banging on the door asking for help? How did she know how to get back to the spot they were all partying at? Where did they put the BMW the girls drove up in? Why would anyone jump in the bed and have sex after something like that happening? Why would Kyle kiss the mouth of someone who just had oral sex with another man? 😂 Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Audience Member Outright like Biehn has been living in a 'Terminator'-induced world. When he puts this movie out, it has every bit as equal a punch as the gritty killler-robot series while being instead about dancers and this hapless guy trying to get on with his life without the drama of the antiquated clique of the modern world. Biehn would seem to be very much a man of the era when film took yet another departure from stale fare as we seem to be going through by following some number of name-brand actores today into formulaic plots and dialogued scripts that should like rehashes of more or less the same fare cut with new scenery. I thought the film had punch and was rather mod in advancing the issue of how damnably easy to kill someone by accident, so thoughtlessly, in a dump of minimized fortune. Sure, it might be an "offender" in perpetuating the sale of sex to the masses, but it clearly looks like a product of its time and a rather effective one at that. I'll leave out the idea that sometimes the characters do a bad job of making sensible decisions. I mean, by the time 'Terminator' was released and 'Navy Seals' on top of that (Biehn's work), war movies were topping out at Viet Nam era fare such as 'Platoon,' which made a number of sensational depictions no less so than what you can see in this one. All in all, 'Victim' will probably be the last "real man's movie" that you'll see this week due to gaining scarcity. But if you've ever contemplated any soldier battle conflagration scenario or played realistic fighter video-games, you know that life's not always a politically correct proposition, especially when command decides where to send you -- rather than choosing specifically your way. The fact simply does not escape me despite the elements in the overall mix, these being the best and the worst/ of times. I do apologize that "the dog ate my review." The original was lost due to a WP feature that doesn't save the work automatically. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/01/23 Full Review Audience Member Decent thriller, but nothing noteworthy. The ending monologue was pretty cool, but that main girl was horrendous! Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/01/23 Full Review Audience Member Definitely not Grind House like it's say it is, The Victim still has something special to it. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/13/23 Full Review Audience Member Low-budget, but a pretty good all-round job from Michael Biehn. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review Audience Member This movie is just plain fun. maybe even a filthy indulgance. if your looking for anything more than to be entertained, then look elsewhere. this is a roller-coaster. enjoy the ride Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Kyle Smith New York Post Dreadfully paced, with the shoddy acting of everyone but Biehn magnified to punishing degrees in talky, lengthy, predictable scenes. Rated: 1/4 Aug 24, 2012 Full Review Jeannette Catsoulis New York Times Labeling a film grind house doesn't excuse soap-opera emoting and laughable dialogue. Rated: 1/5 Aug 23, 2012 Full Review Joe Neumaier New York Daily News This is the kind of junky, hard-to-watch thriller that apologists claim is part of a long line of tough, grindhouse-style thrillers, but which is actually just amateurish gristle. Rated: 0/5 Aug 23, 2012 Full Review Joseph Walsh CineVue There are moments where it appears Biehn hasn't watched a film that was made after the 1980s to inform him of how things have changed. Rated: 1/5 Aug 23, 2018 Full Review Deirdre Crimmins Film Thrills It is never a good sign when the director is not in on the joke. Aug 21, 2018 Full Review Brent Simon Shockya.com Extra helpings of off-kilter and off-key melodrama sink Michael Biehn's bewildering directorial debut, the nasty little down-and-dirty thriller The Victim.
