tim o I hadn't seen it since an original TV broadcast, as a kid in the early/mid 70's: It stuck with me at the time - filled my imagination with the prospect of living as a free-soul, as a way of life - in a way not many films have, so I recently tracked it down. Looking at it now, with adult eyes, it still holds up. Yes, it's got a fair number of cliches, and topics that under "modern sensibilities", wouldn't be considered politically correct. But the themes and messages of the film are still pretty solid: "Commitment", "self-reliance", "sacrifice", not to mention, seeing things through challenges to reach a goal. It's a typical journey film, with a substantial dash of, "oil & water Bro'-bonding", no surprises there. But it holds up pretty well, considering it's age and tiny budget. A keeper for me. Definitely something worth watching with your kids. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Not too bad for a television made movie from the 1970?s. It?s a good character study and is reasonably suspenseful. The acting is fair. It does have it's share of cliches, and it wasn't always convincing, but it did at least hold my interest for the most part. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/18/23 Full Review Audience Member 60/100.
