In spite of the protagonist brothers having a good backstory and the current issue at hand is one that has to be created within a certain time, The Wages of Fear feels slow and unfinished.

Making it more action-driven isn’t necessarily a problem if the character relationships and the core of Arnaud’s story remain intact and as thrilling as they were. But there are little thrills to be had in this hackneyed version.

I watch these types of films and wonder why you would bother to waste your money producing a remake that is a complete and utter failure. Ridiculous action sequences that are so bad that you find yourself yawning uncontrollably!! Guys with the high ground armed to the teeth are outgunned by revolvers!! Yeah ok. The original Wages Of Fear and the 1977 remake The Sorcerer are where you should go. This movie wants to insult your intelligence and they succeed!!

It is so bad on so many different aspects: unbelievable. Who gave the green light to such an unprofessional 2nd remake of the 1953 masterpiece, that was followed by its first very good remake, the "Sorcerer" in 1997 ?

Incoherent, poor film making, the director cannot make any situation suspenseful, let alone credible. The editing is even worse. The screenplay? Nefast. This movie does not even get to the quality of an Ed Wood movie.

Dumbest movie in ages. Bandits have been shooting and killing your crew. I know! Let's suck face next to the nitroglycerin truck! If this turkey was dubbed, subtitle it. If not, find real actors next time. In any case, view the original w. Yves Montand in b&w.

Oustanding the acting of Alban Lenoir but the script is a mess. Waited for the story and characters to develop which took ages. Confusing events which do not contribute to the story. As the great scene of the original movie from 1953 is included where they have to cross a small lake of oil, which is a clear reminder that this movie refers to the original the writer/s messed the film up.
