spoiler alert, this would be a 9 if the kid died, I was not expecting for Jon to be the one to write the letter and when it got revealed that he should die instead of David my jaw DROPPED. Talking through a mirror, traveling in time? Ruined it.

Die Warnung ist ein Mystery-Thriller von Daniel Calparsoro (Regie), der auf dem gleichnamigen Roman von Paul Pen basiert... Der zehnjährige Nico erhält einen Drohbrief und sein Leben ist in Gefahr… Eine überraschende und ergreifende Geschichte mit zwei Handlungssträngen, die gut inszeniert und gespielt ist… Trotz kleiner Mängel sehenswert.

Although it has an interesting (although completely far-fetched) idea and is well-shot, it's clear that the writers didn't know how to expand it into something clever, new, or exciting. Instead, ‘The Warning' plods along until it reaches its predictable ending that is a little disappointing. Not a bad time-waster, but quite mediocre in its execution.

"The Warning" is taut, engaging and well acted suspense-thriller from Spain. And, unlike most of today's films, the filmmaker kept it to a compact 92 minutes. At times, the jumping from the past to present and back is a little confusing. Yet, overall the director manages to keep a good balance between is it psychological or is it something more going on. Well done and well worth seeing.
