Though absent from his ancestral home of Blackmoor for many years, aristocrat Lawrence Talbot (Anthony Hopkins) returns to find his missing brother at the request of the latter's fiancee, Gwen (Hugo Weaving). He learns that a creature has links to an ancient curse turning people into werewolves when the moon is full. To save the village and protect Gwen, he must slay the bloodthirsty beast, but he contends with a horrifying family legacy.

The Wolfman (2010) Is very bad, its script is quite tiring and it often drags on until the end. The visuals are a very positive point, I have to admit. Benicio Del Toro's performance is very bland.

Honestly, this movie deserves more credit than it gets. It is arguably better than the new Wolf Man (2025). There is a lot of gorgeous scenery and just an all around sorrowful vibe throughout the runtime. It has quite a bit of gore, and tries for some more horror elements than the other wolfman movies. The transformations in this movie are really cool and intimidating. Anthony Hopkins is incredible as usual. His character felt a little off to me in the beginning, but really grew on me towards the end. The only real issues here are the pacing can be slow and the almost 2 hour runtime is a little long.

I don’t understand all the low scores for this movie. It wasn’t the greatest werewolf movie, but it was still a good movie. The setting was beautiful and creepy, the effects were awesome, and the cast did a great job. But I’ll admit, I do love Sir Anthony Hopkins!

Without question the best Wolfman movie ever made. The wolfman special effects is unmatched by other very fake looking Werewolves. This movie has nailed it. Everything about this movie is a must see over and over again. Anyone that loves Werewolf movies will put this one at the top.

It's not the worst werewolf movie, but it isn't the best either. It is a serviceable remake of the 1941 original. The makeup, prosthetics, and design of the titular werewolf are quite remarkable, and the level of violence and gore is appropriate for a modern film of this nature.
