A wonderful Biography of a woman who loved giraffes ever since childhood. This woman travels unescorted to South Africa & into the bush to study giraffes in 1956! Courageous indeed!

A warm, intelligent and informative documentary about an extraordinary woman whose passion for giraffes and ground breaking research was thwarted by the prejudices of the era. Fortunately her dedication and accomplishments have now been acknowledged. This is a movie for people who like animals - and people!

One of those documentaries that's fascinating as the subject's appeal, an opportune attempt in learning more through a protective advocate's caring, nurturing perspective with a subtle strain in emphasizing the wondrous importance of these innocent creatures, even if the prompted profile doesn't engage much due to minimal reputation but her fight against extinction in general argues excellent points. (B+)
