Anton Bitel Sight & Sound Economically told and full of lived-in performances, this bleak gangland ghost story shows toxic masculinity caught in its own limbo. Oct 21, 2020 Full Review Alix Turner Ready Steady Cut Slow burn British noir horror film full of rich characters, a terrific score, and tension. Rated: 3.5/5 Feb 15, 2021 Full Review Martin Unsworth Starburst The screenplay - by Jones and actor Kirk Lake - focuses on character rather than horror and in doing so creates an utterly engaging old-school chiller. It would work as play, but at no point does this feel stagy. Rated: 4/5 Oct 26, 2020 Full Review Kat Hughes THN Waiting for Godot meets Reservoir Dogs, The World We Knew may not be action-packed, but it still manages to pack an entertaining punch. Audience Member Mean, moody Brit gangster movie with the hint of a haunting. Cracking cast and a terrific soundtrack. Makes up in atmosphere what it may lack in budget. Might be a little slow for some but those who stay with it will be rewarded. Johann Myers is a star turn. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/12/23 Full Review steve j I was really interested in seeing this movie because I'm an avid Liminanas fan and they wrote and performed the soundtrack which I couldn't stop listening to, it's that good. Then I saw the movie. Big disappointment. I'll sum it up for you: The movie (1/2 Star): dull, unentertaining, forgetful, disappointing, bland, I won't recommend. The soundtrack (5 Stars): amazing, smart, atmospheric, entertaining, memorable, definately recommending to my music love friends who appreciate good music, scoring & writing.
