This lean, mean, R-rated action machine is better than you'd think since Momoa and Bautista take the time, between fights and jokes, to examine the bruised places in the hearts of these half brothers. You feel for them, and that makes all the difference.

Extremely violent, predictably plotted and more than occasionally puerile it may be, it is hard though to dislike a movie with such swagger, chutzpah and the most evocative use of Air Supply since 2010’s Animal Kingdom.

Stick with it, the comedy comes out the further along it goes, and the plot comes together nicely by the end. Love that there's only strong, proud brown skinned actors leading this film, barely a white face to be seen, the cast is magnificent and the film industry seems to be finally representing! The cast is made up of Japanese, Kiwi, Hawaiian, Pawnee, Philipino... it's just awesome! There's a really powerful scene towards the end between Bautista's character and his children, superbly acted by all three. Mamoa's character is incredibly annoying but redeems himself somewhat. Coming off of watching Stathom's Shelter last night, only made this movie so much better to Shelter's terribleness.

This was a lot more fun than I thought it would be. No real acting stretches, but it was a fun action comedy with enough heart to make it better than the average buddy cop fllick. Turn your brain off and just have fun.

Not very good. Bautista is ok, Jason Momoa plays an unlikeable ego driven character. Much of the story is unrealistic and frankly hard to watch. Couldn't finish the movie.

You have two incredibly likable leads and a hell of an accomplished supporting cast. It's competently made and acted. The only reason for the middling review is that it never can settle on whether or not it wants to be a comedy or an action movie. At times it's a little too gory for a comedy and a little too comedic for an action movie.. Jason Momoa and Dave Batista make this watchable but it's not really all that great. I wanted to like this a lot more than I did. It's watchable just not great.
