Critics Consensus

The Wrecking Crew is as brawny and disarmingly charming as its two leading men, smashing through a thin story with colorful pyrotechnics and a satisfying amount of attitude.

Momoa and Bautista, who respectively play a loose-cannon cop and disciplinarian special forces operative, have fun with the action sequences and put some genuine effort into the fractured sibling dynamic. Go to Full Review

Soto blends these bits of comedy, drama, action, suspense, and style into a movie that's a real banger. Here's hoping we get a sequel. Go to Full Review

This lean, mean, R-rated action machine is better than you'd think since Momoa and Bautista take the time, between fights and jokes, to examine the bruised places in the hearts of these half brothers. You feel for them, and that makes all the difference. Go to Full Review

Could the 57-year-old Bautista and the 46-year old Momoa really outfight the Yakuza? Bautista is a 300 lb. WWE World Champion, and 6'5' Momoa will weigh 300 if he keeps drinking beer. That’s enough to suspend disbelief for this silliness. Go to Full Review

Bautista & Momoa make for a fun duo, but the story is wholly unoriginal and packed with action-comedy clichés. The chase scenes are reminiscent of the Fast and Furious movies, with amped up violence and profanities. Go to Full Review

Although the promise of muscly action is sure to draw plenty of viewers, this film sails when it lets its characters behave like real, emotion-driven humans and not just trained killers. Go to Full Review

Worlds B @WorldsCollide 42m Big Dave with another great production! Mamoa and Bautista's chemistry makes for a hilarious, endearing and highly entertaining action romp. During a time, when Action stars and movies are at a low, this comes out swinging. We already watched it twice See more John F @JohnFierce 1h So this is a really good, fun movie. Kind of a Lethal Weapon sort of feel of energy and camaraderie and humor. Proves a few things that we suspected about Hollywood, that basically every unmarried actor would like to be married to Monica Baccarin, and that some of the best lines are the throwaway lines. "I'm getting paid?" Nicely set up for a sequel and strong supporting cast. I hope they do it because there's some great energy and rapport between the two leads. Whole cast is great. The Hawaii setting is great. Just a good fun movie. It doesn't try to be too much. Lands on the emotional sequence between the two brothers as well, the scene working out their final reconciliation is extremely well done. I wonder how many takes they did in the rain. Oh, and the one complaint that kept it from 4 stars: Whoever convinced them to use (pretty bad) CGI in the helicopter sequence should not be allowed to do movies for a while. See more Tony C. @tcampanaro8 2h Started out lame and I thought why would they cast a Diet Rock. Mr Diet Rock was great and his chemistry with Momoa (sp) is natural. See more Sharang L @Scribe187 2h What an absolute waste of a couple of hours. See more Vincent S @Vin_E_At_The_Movies 3h This is a fun, bone crunching, humorous and compelling action movie with a decent plot, good laughs and a good camaraderie between Bautista and Momoa. Dave Bautista is building quite an impressive acting career, the best pro wrestler turned actor. See more Vourn2020 @VON75 5h This is one of the most unusual, action-packed, loose-canon films I have watched in a long time. I'm glad I only have positive things to say, even though I'm not even close to being a beginner reviewer. It's entertaining, sympathetic, and both Dave and Jason give both characters a lot of growth. The humor is brilliantly executed and both raw and adult. Kudos to all the actresses and supporting cast members. They enhance the taste. I rate this film a 9 out of 10. See more Read all reviews
