TheMovieSearch R @TheMovieSearch 7h The Wrong Cruise is a typical Lifetime-style thriller, and unfortunately, this is one where I really wanted to enjoy it but couldn’t get past the problems. The biggest issue is that the story doesn’t flow naturally. The characters make decisions that feel completely unrealistic, and you’re constantly asking yourself why anyone would do these things. Meeting someone on a cruise and suddenly deciding to go off with them, despite having responsibilities, is just one example. Vivica A. Fox’s character is another problem. Instead of feeling like an intelligent woman caught in a dangerous situation, she is repeatedly written as incredibly naive. There’s a difference between being vulnerable and simply making choices that don’t make sense. The villain also doesn’t feel threatening. He comes across more like a cartoonish side character than someone capable of playing the long game. The casting felt off as well, especially for the antagonist.
