Audience Member They literally just completely scrapped the plot of the book the movie is supposedly based on. The Yellow Wallpaper is one of the most terrifying horror books ever written, seeing you watch a woman be driven insane, trapped in a single room in her glorified cage of a manor house, completely controled by her husband, a doctor who is prescribing both the rest treatment that is keeping her confined and some shady drugs. By the end she's completely bonkers, tearing the wallpaper apart to free a woman she sees trapped in it, which is obvious symbolism. This movie completely redefines 'loose adaptation' in the worst ways possible.
